We purchased Ironstone Shire to have our horses in our backyard and to maybe keep a few goats. Well, three goats soon became ten and the herd continues to grow!
We raise Nigerian Dwarfs and  critically endangered San Clemente Island goats.  Our Nigerian Dwarfs are ADGA and/or AGS registered and our San Clemente Island goats are DNA tested and registered with the San Clemente Island Goat Breeders Association. All our goats are CAE/CL negative.

         Nigerian Dwarf Does

We are all about our does! Our ladies are selected from proven milk and show lines, we participate in several ADGA shows a year and because we dam raise, all our does are excellent mothers!

         Nigerian Dwarf Bucks

It takes a lot to be a herdsire! Our bucks come from strong show and milk lines and have wonderful gentle dispositions.

                  Kids/For Sale

We only breed once a year so the nursery is busy in the spring and early summer. Occasionally we will have an adult goat available for sale.

The San Clemente Island Goat Project

The San Clemente Island Goat is a critically endangered, genetically distinct breed with approximately 1700 known individuals. With a population once over 15,000, the San Clemente Island goat called San Clemente Island home until the 1980s when they were eradicated from the island and some returned to domestication on the mainland. Today, these medium-sized, "deer like" goats are used for both meat and dairy, and show some promising potential as fiber goats.

We are dedicated to the preservation of this heritage breed through selective breeding and collaboration with SCI goat community members. Visit our San Clemente Island Goat page to view our small but growing herd and please let us know how we can help you get involved!
